Dedicated Print House for Quran Publishing to be Launched

Astan Quds Razavi (AQR), a charitable foundation in Mashhad, Iran, is overseeing the establishment of a state-of-the-art print house dedicated for printing of the holy Quran.
The 12000 square meter printing facility is located on Chahar Taaghee industrial town near city of Meshed. The print house has a production capacity of 10 million copies of the Quran annually. Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, former Iranian President inaugurated the complex as the chief guest. During the inauguration ceremony Rafsanjani said, “The establishment of this state-of-the-art print has always been one of my dreams. During my trip to Saudi Arabia last year I had the opportunity to visit King Fahad Complex for Printing of Quran in Al Madinah Al Munawarah. I was impressed with the modern equipment and the technology used for printing the Quran and I strongly felt that we should build a similar printing facility in Iran.”
Deputy Custodian of AQR Seyyed Ahmad Alavi said that the construction of the printing house was recently completed and the all the machinery, worth 15 million USD, purchased from Germany is up and running. More than 11 million dollars have been invested in the construction of print house.
“We are going to publish a copy of an illuminated Quran with a beautiful, accurate, and easy to read script under the title ‘the Quran of the Islamic Republic of Iran’,” Alavi said, adding that initially, five million copies of the Quran will be printed annually.
