KSA: Jeddah to Host its First Print Industry Exhibition
[12-Oct-2008 Since 17-Oct-2008] Jeddah is all set to host its first international exhibition on printing technology and equipment. Called JIPEX, the event is considered to be the first exhibition of its kind to be organized by Al Jeel Group in the business and tourism capital of KSA. The event is due to be held at the Jeddah International & Convention Centre from 12 to 17 October, 2008.

The company’s current activities include on demand digital printing, direct mail, commercial printing, automatic production of documents, and perfect use of office work. The company also announced that it had released a series of digital printing presses, which include sheet-fed and continuous-fed digital printing presses.

[7-May-2008 Since 7-May-2008] Technotrans Middle East with the support of a number of regional graphic arts heavy weights such as Heidelberg, Giffin Graphics, IMPZ, Printing and Publishing Group and Cold Jet organised the first seminar on environmental issues in graphic arts industry. The event, which took place on May 7 2008, at the Radisson SAS Hotel. A number of printers and print professionals attended the event. Dubai Chamber for Responsible Business and Lloyds Register Quality Assurance also put their weight behind the event by sending their representatives to take part in the gathering as well as delivering speech.

Egypt: Helwan University Conducts Seminar on Polymer Banknote Technology
[5-May-2008 Since 5-May-2008] The Printing Publishing & Packaging department of the Faculty of Applied Arts at Helwan University in Cairo has announced that it recently organized a special international technical seminar about the latest in the polymer banknote technology. The speakers at the event, which was first of its kind in Egypt and the Middle East region, included Angus Ward, the Director of Business Development at Securency International from UK, Paul Zeintek, the Head of PolyTeQ Services from Australia, and Chris Catlin, the Consultant at Australian Central Bank, also from PolyTeQ Services in Australia.

UAE: Giffin Graphics Celebrates 30 Years of Existence in the Region
[10-Mar-2008 Since 10-Mar-2008] Giffin Graphics recently celebrated its 30th anniversary. The company, which was established in 1978 as part of Giffin Establishment (established in 1976), hosted a dinner party for its staff members and their families, which numbered to a whopping 250, on January 24, 2008 at Al Raha Beach Hotel Ball Room in Abu Dhabi. The dinner party started with a welcome speech from Ramzi Kteily, the Managing Partner at Giffin Graphics. He addressed the entire Giffin Graphics staff and thanked them for the three decades journey. He also thanked the family members of his staff members, who had to put up with the long hours and missing weekends with the kids, and for sharing Giffin past, present and the future.
